The term forms from the German words wandern (to hike) and lust (enjoy). Placing the two words together translates to "to enjoy hiking", although it is commonly described as an enjoyment of strolling or wandering. A more contemporary equivalent for the English wanderlust in the sense of "love of travel" would be Fernweh (literally "an ache for the distance").

An Actress is Born
Kalia attends Colleyville Elementary. This year the school brought in a company to put on a school play. Auditions were held on Monday afternoon, 45 of the 100 kids present were chosen to participate in Long John Silvers The Search for Buried Treasure. Kalia was cast as a seagull, 1/12 kindergardeners to play the part. They held practice everyday after school. They learned lines, sang songs and were fitted with costumes. Kalia's main job was to run around the stage flapping her wings. :O) Opening night was Friday night. The show was fantastic and great fun as well. Kalia now calls a few 5th graders her friends, which is very cool, if you ask her.
